Many of the legal aspects of oil and gas production (for example, in contracts for the drilling, sale and transportation of oil and gas) are unique and require basic knowledge of the oil and gas industry. A lawyer requires such knowledge to prepare provisions on liability of the parties, etc. An in-depth study of the legislation on subsoil use is also required to know by lawyers, otherwise young specialists have to urgently gain knowledge of the industry (geology, geophysics, drilling) for the first 3-5 years.
