JSC "Karazhanbasmunai"
JSC "Karazhanbasmunai" is an oil production company developing the Karazhanbas field, located in the Mangistau region, near the city of Aktau. The main types of activity include production, primary processing and sale of oil, mainly for export. The Karazhanbas gas and oil field is located on the Buzachi peninsula in the Mangistau region, approximately 200 km north of Aktau. The discovery of the field took place on January 22, 1974, when oil deposits were discovered at a shallow depth of 303 meters. The oil and gas content of the field is associated with the Lower Cretaceous and Middle Jurassic deposits, which lie up to an absolute mark of 500 meters within the Buzachinsky uplift. The Karazhanbas field has a mining allotment for hydrocarbon production with an area of 16,001 hectares.
