One of the promising areas of alternative energy is the use of biomass. For this, certain types of agricultural crops are used: Canary cane, corn, oats, millet, thistle, mullein and many others. For certain natural and climatic zones, certain types of crops are suitable and others are completely inapplicable. Different crops are also used for different types of energy carriers: biomass, biodiesel, bioethanol, etc. To obtain high yields of the required crop requires the knowledge and skills of the relevant specialists.
The novelty of the profession: solving new problems: based on the natural and climatic conditions of the region, determining the optimal agricultural crops for energy production. (The profession is new for Kazakhstan)
Key competencies:
- Study of the climatic and natural features of the region (soil science, climate science, etc.)
- Overview of existing crops used for energy generation
- Determination of agricultural crops optimal for the region: which plants are more resistant, will give a large biomass, the most productive
