Kazakh American Free University is a private university of international partnership. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, who is his first "Honorary Professor", personally took part in the solemn ceremonies of its opening and the presentation of diplomas to the first graduates. The leadership of the university includes US citizens: Marshall Christensen - Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Daniel Ballast - Vice President for International Programs and Cooperation. In 2019, the university celebrated its 25th anniversary. The university passed three state attestations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The economic specialties of the university have the international specialized accreditation of the organization ACBSP (Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, USA). In 2014, KAFU passed the institutional and specialized accreditation of the IQAA in the specialties 5B011900 "Foreign language: two foreign languages", 5B020700 "Translation studies", 6M011900 "Foreign language: two foreign languages". The main priority of the university is the training of specialists who are fluent in, in addition to the chosen specialty, English and computer technologies.
