LLP "Ekibastuz GRES-1" named after B.G. Nurzhanova
The limited liability partnership “Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after Bulat Nurzhanov” is a thermal power plant with an installed capacity of 4,000 MW, located on the northern shore of Lake Zhengeldy, 16 km north of the city of Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region. The station was built within the framework of the USSR project to create the Ekibastuz Fuel and Energy Complex and is the largest station in Kazakhstan operating on solid fuels. As the largest power plant in Kazakhstan, Ekibastuz GRES-1 is also one of the largest coal-fired power plants in the world with a current capacity of 3,500 MW.
