In 2011, a plant for the production of high-speed passenger cars "Tulpar-Talgo" was built in Astana, which has no analogues in the CIS. The construction of the plant was carried out in cooperation with the Joint Stock Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and the Spanish company "Patentes Talgo". The project was implemented within the framework of the state program of accelerated innovative and industrial development, with the support of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Design capacity: 150 wagons per year. Number of jobs: 230 people. Land area: 22 hectares. Premises area: 32 thousand m2. Since December 2011, it has been producing high-speed passenger cars using the technology of the Patentes Talgo Company (Kingdom of Spain). In the period 2012-2015. 436 cars (16 trains) were produced according to the F-061 project (body width 2960 mm).
